(KSWT News 13) - Guatemalan authorities say there are no bodies or confirmation of a gunfight yet as they investigate reports of a clash between drug gangs and the possible death of Mexico's most-wanted drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.

Officials say they are mobilizing security forces to search a rural area where residents reported the gun battle in a province near the border with Mexico.

Last night, authorities first said they were investigating whether Guzman was one of the two men killed in the area.

But hours later, they backtracked and said they only received reports of a battle from local people.
