Standoff between police and barricaded resident ends with no shots fired

YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) – A standoff between a resident and the Yuma police SWAT team ended without shots being fired.

Police say 37-year-old Jason Williams was wanted for aggravated assault in connection to domestic violence.

Dozens of armed officers surrounded his apartment near 21st Street and 11th Avenue, but Williams refused to come out.

Williams finally surrendered after two hours.

He came out of his apartment with another man. 

Williams was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for an unknown medical issue. 

Police questioned the other man to determine his involvement. The investigation is ongoing.
