SAN LUIS Ariz. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers busted a man who tried smuggling 669 pounds of pot through the San Luis Commercial Port of Entry.
It happened Friday, after a 48-year-old man driving a tractor-trailer was pulled into secondary revision.
Officers noticed something strange in his trailer using an X-ray system.
Then, a drug-detecting dog alerted officers to the back of the trailer, where they found 27 packages of pot hidden behind the back wall.
The marijuana and tractor-trailer were processed for seizure.
The drug smuggler was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
