CALEXICO, Calif. (KSWT News 13) – Border Patrol agents rescued a man drowning in a canal, and arrested him after finding he was in the U.S. illegally.
It happened yesterday at around 8:00 p.m. near the All-American Canal east of Calexico.
Agents saw a man waving for help near a canal, where another man was struggling to stay above water.
Agents pulled him out of the canal's water using a rescue throw bag, and found that both of the men were in the country illegally.
The two men were transported to the Calexico Border Patrol station for processing and further
evaluation.
