YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - Three-year-old Michael Rogers is currently under close watch at the Yuma Regional Medical Center because of a high fever.

He is still in pain but to hurts him to move or to hug his mom, but he is okay.

He did not suffer any internal injuries.

"I don't think it's right. I don't think it's right for him to see my son like he's road kill and just leave, you know? My son is more than that. It makes me mad. He has no remorse. He had no feelings for my son when he took off. He didn't care. He knew my son was hurt. He knew that but he just left," says the boy's mother, Crystal Rodriguez.

On Friday, Michael Rogers was riding his tricycle outside of his grandfather's tire shop when he was hit by a truck hauling a trailer. The family says they were inside, doing work around the shop.

That was when they heard the toddler yell out in pain. The driver got out of the car for a moment but then took off.
