YUMA, Ariz. - A man who kidnapped a woman, led deputies on a high speed chase and crashed into another car is now behind bars.
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office says deputies tried to stop 31-year old Enrique Rivera near Avenue B and 8th street on Saturday night.
When Rivera pulled over near Avenue B and 4th Place, deputies say they heard a woman in the car screaming for help.
Deputies say Rivera fled the scene with the woman still inside his car and led deputies on a high speed chase, reaching speeds up to 100 miles per hour.
They say Rivera ran through red lights and crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Avenue B and 24th Street.
Only Rivera and the woman were injured. Both were taken to the Yuma Regional Medical Center and were treated and released.
Rivera was booked into the Yuma County Jail.
He is due back in court on Tuesday.
