YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - A border patrol agent helped a couple living inside of a house that was on fire before firefighters arrived.

The fire started in the garage early Sunday morning, at around 4:00 a.m.

The Border Patrol agent quickly called firefighters when he was on his way to his patrol area and saw flames going up inside of a house's garage.

Another agent arrived at the scene and the two began knocking on all the doors and windows to get the residents' attention.

Rural Metro Fire Department arrived as the couple living inside of the house finally came out.

Firefighters put out the fire.

Neither of the two residents were hurt.

Rural Metro says there were no working smoke detectors in the house, and are working to investigate the cause of the fire.
