Posted: Updated:

YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man wanted for possible burglary who ran from deputies last night.

It happened early this morning at around 1:45 a.m.

Deputies say 22-year-old Jesus Meza took off running and abandoned his car after he was unable to explain why he was parked in the middle of a roadway in an area where there had been burglary attempts recently.

Meza identified himself to deputies as Juan Meza, not Jesus Meza.

He has an active warrant for his arrest for false reporting.

He has a history of serving jail time for burglary.

Deputies say they found several stolen items inside of Meza's abandoned Chevy Equinox but are waiting to get a search warrant to find evidence.
Anyone with any information on Meza's whereabouts is asked to call the Yuma County Sheriff's at 783-4427.
