Police arrest man after child sex abuse allegations from victim's parents

Posted: Updated:

BLYTHE, Calif. (KSWT News 13) – Blythe police, a narcotics enforcement team, and Border Patrol agents teamed up to bust a man after receiving reports he committed lewd acts with a child.

Wednesday at about 6:30 p.m., authorities got a warrant to search the house of 31-year-old Jeffery Raymond, arrested him, and locked him up behind bars.

Raymond's arrest came a day after police responded to Palo Verde Hospital for a report of child sex abuse.

The hospitalized child and a family member pointed to Raymond as a possible suspect during an interview with police.

At about midnight on Wednesday, someone set fire to Raymond's car. No one knows how the fire started, but Blythe police are investigating it as arson.

This morning, parents of a second victim called police and said Raymond had also engaged in lewd acts with their child.

Police fear that there are other victims that have not yet been identified.

Anyone with information regarding this case, or any other crime, is urged to contact the Blythe Police Department at 922-6111 or they can give their information anonymously by calling Crime Stop at 921-CARE (2273).
