YUMA, Ariz. (KSWT News 13) – Many people are busy cleaning up after heavy winds hit wide areas in Yuma and the Imperial County.

The blustery conditions picked up dust, dirt, sand and tree branches, dropping a lot of debris in swimming pools.

Today, pool professionals were busy cleaning up.

If you're a pool owner, you should not try to clean it by turning on your filter. Doing so could damage the motor and cost you even more money.

Janet Craig, owner for Green Valley Pool Repair, says you should get everything out of your pool with a net first.

It is important to remember that no matter how thoroughly you clean the pool on the first day, there will still be some sand that will get kicked up.
