Police arrest man who fired shots in the air

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - Yuma Police have arrested a man who reportedly fired his gun into the air early this morning.

Police say 30-year-old Jorge Clark, who is a prohibited possessor, fired a weapon into the air at 3:00 a.m., and then again at 10:00 a.m.

Police say when they arrived to Pepperwood Apartments. Clark refused to immediately surrender to police.

Officers then closed off traffic along 3rd Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets, and asked several nearby residents to evacuate their homes and leave the area. 

Police then called in the SWAT team.

About 20 minutes later, police say Clark came out of his apartment.

One man--who did not want to be identified-- says he came face to face with Clark after he fired shots in the air.

No one was hurt.

Still, police also called in a special enforcement unit as a precaution and got a warrant to search Clark's apartment. 

Clark faces charges of endangerment, misconduct with a weapons and two counts of disorderly conduct.
