Police arrest two for stealing items out of unlocked cars

BLYTHE, Calif. (13 On Your Side) - Two people are behind bars for stealing out of unlocked cars in Blythe.

Blythe police tells 13 On Your Side they arrested 23-year-old Christopher Lukesh and 25-year-old Nikki Gauthier on Thursday at around 4:00 am.

Officers found Lukesh and Gauthier in separate driveways, looking into cars.

Their own car was parked nearby, and inside of it were golf clubs, electronics, wallets, and other property they had taken from several unlocked cars.

Police want to remind people to lock their cars.

The estimated value of everything stolen is more than $6,500. Ten different victims were contacted and have identified their property.
