High school student tazered and arrested after assaulting police

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - A high school student is behind bars after assaulting a school police officer.


It happened just before 10:00 am, while Omar McQueen, a student, was being investigated for having drugs at scool.

Police say the school resource officer believed the 19-year-old had marijuana with intention to sell it at Yuma High School.

When police told McQueen he was under arrest, he attacked the officer.

Other police officers had to step in to help and had to tazer McQueen.

McQueen faces charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and possession of marijuana for sale in a drug-free school zone.
