City of Yuma unveils curb-side recycling plan

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - The City of Yuma has revealed its plan to begin curb-side recycling services in honor of Earth Day.

the City will deliver 21,000 individual blue recycling containers to homes all across the city limits, over a 14-week period, starting May 13th. Once a home has received a blue container, they will begin receiving recycling pickup the following week.

For the first 7 weeks of the period, customers will have trash pickup on Monday, and recycling pickup for those with containers will be on Thursday. For the remaining 7 weeks of the period, After the Independence Day, garbage pickup will take place Tuesday, and recyclables will be picked up Friday.

Recyclables to be picked up will consist of paper, plastic, tin, metal, cardboard, and glass.
