35-year old grandmother arrested in shooting death of 3-year old grandson

Yuma, AZ - Yuma police have arrested the grandmother of the 3-year old boy who died from a gunshot wound today.

35-year old Rachel Spry faces multiple charges including manslaughter, misconduct involving a weapon, and for being in possession of dangerous drugs. According to police, the boy got ahold of his grandmother's loaded gun.

Police did not make it clear if the boy shot himself by accident. Or, if the gun went off while grandmother tried to take it away from him. but we do know the shooting happened this morning just before eight. Paramedics rushed the boy to Yuma Regional Medical Center where doctors later pronounced him dead.

Police have not released the boys name. Police say the deadly shooting remains under investigation.
