YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – the story of Yuma's history will be on full display on Saturday, broadcast nationally on C-SPAN – for the rest of the country to see.

The one hour special, from C-SPAN's 2013 Cities Tour, promises to capture Yuma's rich cultural history, the importance of the city's $3 billion agriculture business, as well as the Marine Corps Air Station, and the role it plays in the community. The special will also touch on local historical hotspots such as the Yuma Territorial Prison, and the Quartermaster Depot. C-SPAN also will take a look at the border and Yuma's battle with immigration, and the importance of the All-American canal system.

Linda Jordan, the Executive Director of the Yuma Visitor's Bureau, thinks that the national attention could be beneficial to Yuma and might attract vacationers.

"We are the sunniest place in the world, the winter vegetable capital of the U.S., and we have so many things to talk about that no one else can" said Jordan.

The special will feature at 2PM on C-SPAN-3. a link to the video segments can be found indefinitely at www.c-span.org/LocalContent.
