Search continues for missing man at Mittry Lake

Yuma, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - "It hurts, he's a good friend, a good friend," said Ted Ford.

Ford says he's worried his friend Frank Wallace has gone missing.

Ford says Wallace took his boat out on the lake Monday night to go fishing, he went alone.

"He likes to fish at night, I don't like to fish at night. He came out Monday night, he didn't come back Tuesday and we called, he didn't answer and he didn't come back this morning. So we came out to see what happened, I found his truck still here but we couldn't find him," said Ford.

Ford says he and another friend searched the lake for Wallace today.

They found his boat, submerged mostly under water in a shallow area near the shore.

"It was sticking up out of the water and all equipment, his fishing equipment, his ice chest. Did he have a life Jacket I don't know," said Ford.

Ford says he called 9-1-1 today to report Wallace missing.

Yuma County Sheriff's Deputies and dive team immediately responded.

13 on Your Side was there when deputies searched along the shore line, while the dive team searched the water below.

"We're thinking maybe he's somewhere out there, he could be in the bushes out there, we won't know until they tell us," said Ford.

For now all Ford can do is pray that Wallace will be found safe and alive.

"I hope we find him alive, I hope so, I'm not going to give up yet," said Ford.
