Former TPD employee wanted for sexual exploitation of a minor

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Tucson Police Department is searching for a former officer who was involved in online sharing and distribution of child pornography in Tucson.

According to the Tucson Police Department, Martin Ward, 29, is wanted for sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Unit initiated an investigation in March, which led them to the discovery of multiple file sharing of investigative interest in a residence in the 9200 block of East Palm Tree Drive.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, and upon further investigation on May 9, they discovered multiple videos depicting child pornography.  29-year old Martin Ward.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Ward on May 10 for one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Further charges are pending upon arrest. Anyone with information Ward's location is urged to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.

Ward was hired by the Tucson Police Department in April of 2007 and resigned in December of 2012 in lieu of termination as the result of an unrelated internal investigation.
