Yuma murder suspect captured after a year on the run

Yuma, AZ- On April 23, 2012 police responded to a report of a dead man inside of a home near 9th Avenue and 1st street in Yuma.

When police arrived they found the body of 20- year old Angel Montaldo of Winterhaven. Police determined someone killed Montaldo. They began investigating his death as a homicide.

Police immediately identified 21- year old Michael Rose as person of interest.

Officers wanted to question Rose in Montaldo's murder. Instead Rose went on the run from police.

Now more than a year later U.S. marshals finally caught up with him.

Court records show Rose is being charged with 2 counts of 1st Degree Murder and 1 count of Burglary.

Police tell 13 on Your Side Rose's arrest is in connection to Montaldo's murder.

A Yuma judge has set Rose's bond at 2 million dollars.

Rose is the only person who has been taken into custody for the murder of Montaldo.
