Residents react to drug bust in their Yuma neighborhood

Yuma, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) Kenny who lives on the 2000 block of Olivia Ave tells 13 on your side he was shocked to see a home just a few doors down from where he lives surrounded by police cars.

"I got up, I got dressed and came out and it looked like a drug bust," said Kenny.

Sheriff's Deputies, the Narcotics Task Force and the Official Response Team executed a search warrant at the home around 6 Friday Morning.

"Inside the home we found a usable amount of meth, along with other drug paraphernalia, scales and sales ledger," said Alfonso Zavala with the Sheriff's office.

41 year old Chevalier Cavanaugh and 23-year old Sean Pollard were arrested for selling meth out of their home.

Kenny had no idea this was taking place, but another neighbor who does not want to show her face on camera tells 13 on Your Side the home was like a late night fast food joint, but instead of buying burgers, people were driving up to buy drugs.

Zavala says while law enforcement is always fighting the war on drugs, he says they still need help from the community.

"The community should get involved, we want to have safe neighborhoods, we want our children to be able to play outside and not worry that illegal activity is going on at a neighbors home," said Zavala.
