SAN LUIS, Ariz. — Customs and Border Protection officers in San Luis helped a woman crossing the border deliver a baby.

Agents say a 20-year-old woman, who is a citizen of the U.S., went into labor as she was in line to cross the border at the San Luis Port of Entry.

Several Customs and Border Protection officers who had received paramedic training rushed to help her as they waited for an ambulance.

The woman and her newborn were examined before Rural Metro Fire Department rushed them to Yuma Regional Medical Center.

Both are in good health, according to Yuma Regional Medical Center officials.
