Mexicali man wanted for stealing from agriculture companies busted at San Luis port of entry

IMPERIAL VALLEY, Calif. (13 On Your Side) – A Mexicali man wanted for stealing from agriculture companies is now behind bars.    

According to the Imperial County Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old Marco Andres Gutierrez-Perez was busted at the San Luis Port of Entry on Tuesday.

He was wanted in connection to several crimes reported in Imperial County.

Deputies say key evidence made Gutierrez-Perez their prime suspect.

He is accused of stealing things like tractor engines and starters from five agriculture companies in Imperial County.

He is currently being held on $25,000 bond at the Yuma County Jail and is waiting extradition to Imperial County.
