YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – A Yuma man is dead after crashing into a power pole.

It happened Friday night, at around 10:30 pm, near County 14th and Avenue G.

Investigators say the driver, 20-year-old Francisco Garcia, lost control of his car and crashed into an APS steel pole.

The car was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived.

Garcia was pronounced dead on scene.

His passenger, a 19-year-old man from San Luis, was flown to a Phoenix hospital with life-threatening injuries.

His name is not being released at this time.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Deputies say alcohol does appear to be a factor in the collision.
