YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – Police are investigating two car crashes that happened within a block from each other this morning, forcing several street closures.

The first one happened at 7:30 am, on Avenue B near 12th Street.

Police say a 16-year-old driver was trying to make a left turn on a two-way lane, when they slammed into an Allied Waste trash truck.

The second crash happened about an hour later, a block away from the scene of the first crash.

Yuma police says a 67-year-old woman, who was driving a van, rear-ended a car in front of her that was stopped in traffic because of the first crash.

No one was seriously injured in either of the car crashes, but nearby streets were closed off four about three hours while police cleared the scene.
