More than $641,000 worth of meth and heroin intercepted at San Luis Port of Entry

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the San Luis Port of Entry had a busy weekend, with busts totalling more than $641,000 worth in meth and heroin.


On Friday, a 17-year-old from San Luis, Ariz., was busted with $36,000 worth of meth. The teen tried smuggling the drugs, which were taped to his thighs, as he walked through the pedestrian lane at the port.

Later that day, a 22-year-old Wellton woman was busted with $184,000 worth of heroin in her truck.

On Saturday, officers arrested a woman with $421,000 worth of meth in the backseat of her car.

All three were turned over to Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
