(13 On Your Side) - A big, better and improved YMCA officially unveiled its new
state-of-the-art facility in Yuma
The new YMCA will be able to increase its membership from serving 4,000 people
That's three times its previous
13 On Your Side attended the grand
Executive Director Chris Wheeler
tells 13 On Your Side he plans to hire an additional 16 employees to meet the
growing demand to promises to come with the new facility.
The Yuma YMCA received more than
$750,000 through donations to fund the new facility, located on 32nd Street
near Avenue A.
Wheeler says the YMCA's new indoor
aerobics room is the largest in the city.
The new facility also comes complete
with a fresh set of free weights lining its walls.
Wheeler says that from start to
finish, construction took about three months, and with the added features, the
new facility will see an even bigger increase in community use.
