JACUMBA, Calif. (13 On Your Side) - Border Patrol agents rescued a Mexican man trying to illegally enter the United States, who lost his way in the triple digit heat and needed medical help.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say it happened at around 8:30 am, near Jacumba, California.
A search trauma and rescue team went out to the area and found the 21-year-old, who told them he hadn't had water in more than 12 hours.
Agents say he was lost and disoriented.
They administered first aid, but the man denied any further medical attention.
Agents confirmed he was in the United States illegally and drove him to the El Centro Border Patrol station for processing and further evaluation.
