Deputies arrest man, teen for burglarizing cars

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – A man and teen are behind bars are accused of burglarizing cars in Mesa del Sol and several other neighborhoods.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office busted 18-year-old Giovanni Cinquemani and a 16-year-old girl after seeing them jump the fence into a backyard. 

Deputies say they spotted the duo jumping a fence into the backyard, which was not theirs, and found them hiding in a storage shed.

Deputies say Cinquemani and the other suspect ditched a purse full of stolen valuables near the fence they jumped.

Both admitted to burglarizing two cars in Mesa Del Sol and several other neighborhoods, including Calle Raquel and Via Salida.

Cinquemani was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center for burglary, theft, possession of stolen property and criminal trespassing.

The 16-year-old girl was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center for burglary, theft, possession of stolen property and criminal trespassing.

Deputies want to remind you not to leave expensive items in your car, which can easily be stolen. Make sure to lock your car and watch out for any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
