YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – We have an update for you on the investigation involving a 19-year-old intruder who entered a Somerton home through the doggie door in the middle of the night and was shot dead by the homeowner.
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office says their case will be sent to the County Attorney's office by the end of this week.
The County Attorney will decide whether or not charges will be filed against the homeowner who shot and killed Matthew Sykora on May 27th.
Detectives are still waiting on a toxicology report.
As we previously reported, investigators have yet to clear the homeowner of any wrong doing, despite a law that protects homeowners when using a deadly force.
