YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - Multiple federal, state and local agencies are upping their ability to tackle high-risk situations in Yuma if such an emergency were to happen.

Officers and agents wrapped up the fourth three-day active shooter training course today.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers tell us they learned how to work together in case an emergency situation arises in a public school or business.

Officers and agents practiced coordinating protocol and communication with each other using the right terminology during an emergency.

Participants included the Somerton Police Department, the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Imperial County Sheriff's Office, Customs and Border Protection officers, Yuma Police Department and Border Patrol agents in the Yuma sector.
