SAN LUIS, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers busted a Somerton man with more than 38 pounds of methamphetamine at the San Luis port.
Officers stopped 37-year-old Victor Manuel Navarro's Ford truck for inspection as he was attempting to cross the border into Arizona.
A drug-sniffing dog alerted officers of the possible presence of drugs, leading them to find 30 packages of methamphetamine stashed inside of his gas tank.
The meth is valued at $595,045.
Navarro was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
