Avenue 3E bridge ribbon-cutting ceremony

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – After months of construction, Yuma celebrated the widening of the Avenue 3E bridge with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Mayor Al Krieger, Arizona Department of Transportation leaders, and several other state and local officials gathered to officially open the bridge this morning.

The $8 million project will help out drivers, military, the agriculture industry, truckers driving through the area, tourism, and growth of the Yuma community itself.

I think it really marks a turning point in the City of Yuma in the sense that they needed this widening both for economic development and good quality of life and to make sure that Yuma keeps moving forward."

The bridge, which is located between Gila Ridge Road and 24th Street in Yuma, was widened from two to six lanes—with a center median, new pavement and pedestrian walkways.
