Border Patrol helps feed the hungry

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – Yuma Border Patrol agents collected more than 7,000 pounds of food to donate to the Yuma Community Food Bank during this hard economic time.

Border Patrol's "Feed the Families" effort will feed about 9,146 meals to the needy in Yuma, Ariz., and Blythe, California.

Mike Ivers, President and CEO of the Yuma Community Food Bank, said the generous efforts of Border Patrol are a great help for the war on hunger.

The food bank still has a long way to go to reach their goal of 20,000 pounds of food by September 1.

So far, they're at 13,000 pounds—and that's all thanks to people like you.
