Border Patrol agents bust woman with $75,000 worth of heroin

SALTON CITY, Calif. (13 On Your Side) - U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro sector busted a woman with heroin taped to her body.

It happened at around 4:00 pm.

Officers say the 20-year-old was driving through a checkpoint near Salton City when canines detected drugs in her car.

Agents patted her down and found four plastic-wrapped packages of heroin duct-taped to her stomach.

The drugs are worth about $75,000.

The woman is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
