Driver dies after crashing into pole

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office tells 13 On Your Side a Yuma woman is dead after crashing into a pole.

It happened yesterday at around 4:45 pm near the 1600 block of West County 17 and 3/4 Street.
No other cars were involved in the crash.

Deputies say paramedics rushed 54-year-old Jeri Ellen McCoy to the hospital after she lost control of her car and crashed into a powerpole on the side of the road.

She was pronounced dead in the emergency room. 

McCoy's next of kin have been notified.

Deputies are investigating the crash.

They say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
