Two men jailed after brawl at local saloon

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – Two men are now behind bars after a brawl broke out at a Yuma bar early Sunday morning.

The Yuma Police Department says a fight broke out around 2:00 AM in front of the parking lot at Derailed Saloon.

Police dispersed the crowd at the brawl and arrested five men—all between the ages of 23 and 29.

Police say two of them, Cliffton Fierro and Stephen Ramirez, remain behind bars on charges for aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Police say Fierro fought four officers as he was taken into custody.

Ramirez hit an officer in the back of the head.

Three others were cited and released.

Jesus Ortiz, who was fighting with another man when officers arrived on scene, was cited for escape, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Police say Ortiz fought officers as he was being arrested, then tried to flee on foot with handcuffs on.

His case will be forwarded to the County Attorney's office, who will decide if charges are pressed against him.

Two others involved in the brawl were cited and released for disorderly conduct.
