Yuma police warn about "phishing" scams

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) - Yuma police say scammers are going phishing.
But it's not the outdoor sport you may be thinking about.
YPD says "phishing" is when thieves traget people through emails and web sites and convince them to give out their personal information.
In many cases, emails state thtat a personal account has been hacked or that it needs to be updated for security purposes.
Police are urging everyont to avoid giving out any personal or financial information they may ask for in this process.
If you do receive suspicious email you believe is from a phisher, mark it as spam and immediately delete it from your inbox.
