CBP officers find drugs co-mingled with shipment of tortillas

NOGALES, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) –Customs and Border Protection officers busted a Tucson man with nearly 384 pounds of marijuana in a shipment of corn tortillas.

It happened Wednesday at the Nogales cargo facility.

After a narcotics detection canine alerted officers to the presence of drugs.

Moments later, officers found 44 packages of marijuana hidden in the shipment of tortillas.

The drugs, worth nearly $192,000, were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

The driver of the car, a 37-year-old Tucson man, was arrested and turned over for investigation.
