FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - The Arizona Department of Corrections says they are investigating the death of an inmate at the state prison in Florence.

Department spokesman Bill Lamoreaux says 38-year-old Raymundo Morin died Thursday from an apparent suicide.

The investigation will be led by the department's criminal investigation unit in consultation with the county medical examiner's office.

Records show Morin was serving an 18-year sentence for second-degree murder out of Cochise County. He began serving his sentence in 2005 and was housed at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Eyman.
