CBP officers find $500K shipment of marijuana stashed inside scrap aluminum cans

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) A tractor trailer driver is busted at the San Luis Port of Entry with nearly half a million dollars of marijuana hidden inside of scrap aluminum cans.

It happened yesterday at the port of entry in San Luis, Ariz. 

When officers searched the trailer during secondary inspection, they found more than forty packages of aluminum scrap that had been stuffed with marijuana.

The drugs are estimated to be worth $469,000.

The drugs and tractor trailer were seized. The driver, a 44-year-old Mexican citizen, was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
