Bronze bust of JFK stolen from a Tucson park

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in Tucson say a bronze bust of John F. Kennedy is missing after being stolen off its pedestal base from Presidio Park last weekend.

The bust was erected in 1964, one year after the former president's assassination.

It depicts JFK wearing a coat and tie.

Authorities say the bust was ripped clean off its granite base.

A city parks employee discovered the headless pedestal and reported it Monday.

Presidio Park is equipped with surveillance cameras which didn't catch the theft. The cameras are live and do not record.
