Task force raids hand-dug tunnel in Nogales

YUMA, Ariz. (13 On Your Side) – Federal authorities shut down a drug smuggling tunnel discovered in the backyard shed of a home in Nogales, Arizona.

The hand-dug tunnel is more than 50 feet long and led to an underground sewage line that crossed the international border.

It was only two feet wide and three feet tall, and no drugs or people were found inside the tunnel.

Yet members of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Task Force found white heroin, marijuana and more than $1,000 in cold cash when they raided the home where the tunnel began.

No arrests have been made in the case, which is under investigation by a task force.
