BLYTHE, Calif. (13 On Your Side) – The internet can sometimes seem like a free-for-all arena for comments and replies from any and all. But when does it go too far, and land you in trouble?

Blythe police are dealing with one such situation right now.

Officers arrested an online commenter yesterday, who was making threatening comments toward a newspaper's editorial and publishing staff.

53-year-old Larry Barnes was arrested in his home yesterday, and is behind bars facing charges for making threats toward the Palo Verde Times' staff.

Though we do not know what the comments said exactly, they are being investigated and taken very seriously.

Blythe police seized Barnes' computer after interviewing him at his own home yesterday.

According to police, the threats were made against the newspaper's staff in relation to an article the paper ran on the recent arrest of a hospital board member.

13 On Your Side will continue following this story to bring you the latest on the case.
