Preston, United Kingdom – April 2, 2014 /MarketersMedia/ —

Ummah Global Relief was the initiative of Mr. Abdul Adam, Mr. Adam originally wanted to personally deliver his donation to the poor, needy and widowed women in Valan, India.

Mr. Adam was shocked at the struggles being suffered by widows and their children in this region. He thought there was a serious lack of help and opportunity available for the widows so he decided to set up a charitable organisation once he returned to the UK.

More than a thousand people have made dontations to the charity since it’s launch and Ummah Global Relief is pleased to have helped “thousands of families, widows, widowers, orphans, elderly, women, destitute, sick, the disabled, madrasas and mosques.”

The charity say they now wish to expand operations into South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, they wish to target countries that have been identified by the United Nations as the poorest in the world. The charity say, “We’re hoping that with the continuous support and donations of our donors and patrons we will be able to realise this noble goal.”

The charity is an Islamic charity, enabling donors to give Zakat ( arabic for “that which purifies”). According to Wikipedia, Zakat or alms-giving is the practice of charitable giving by Muslims based on accumulated wealth, it is obligatory for all who are able to do so. It is considered to be a personal responsibility for Muslims to ease economic hardship for other Muslims and eliminate inequality for followers of Islam.

The charity says on this page, “Ummah Global relief and all the beneficiaries of our charitable works, overseas and within the United Kingdom, are very grateful for the continuous support and patronage of our benefactors. They have been instrumental in realizing the goals and aspirations of the Charity and in improving the quality of life and spiritual life of those who’ve been forgotten, neglected and marginalized by society and their government. We aim to get and attract more benefactors to help and support us in realizing our goals.”

Ummah Global Relief are pleased to take donations by bank transfer, text, cash deposit, postal order, cheque, over the phone or online the charity can securely process all major credit and debit cards.
