YUMA (KSWT-TV 13OYS): Military officials have confirmed a Harrier jet stationed out of the Marine Corps Air Station-Yuma has crashed into several homes in Imperial, CA. The plane went down at about 4:20 p.m.

There's no word yet if residents were inside of the home at the time of the crash or if anyone else on the ground was hurt.

Miramar officials said the pilot ejected safely and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

13OYS viewers first reported a military aircraft crashed into a home near Crossroad & Fonie Avenue. Images provided by viewers show a home engulfed in flames.

According to a press release, Miramar officials said civilian homes were impacted. They would not say how many homes were impacted.

Local authorities remain on the scene. They'll continue to investigate to determine the cause of the crash.

This is the second time a Harrier jet from MCAS-Yuma has crashed in the last month.
