TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Mexican law enforcement has fired two shots into the Arizona desert after crossing into the U.S. border.

A Mexican law enforcement helicopter crossed about 100 yards north into the Arizona desert on Thursday morning, according to a statement by the U.S. Border Patrol.

The helicopter then fired two shots on the Tohono O'Odham Indian Nation, which sits on the border.

There were no injuries or damage to property. Border patrol has declined to say whether any American agents were near the shooting.

The agency has also declined to say what branch of law enforcement the Mexican helicopter was from.  An investigation is ongoing.
