Joey Norton

Joey is a Louisville, Kentucky native.  It was here he was born to be a Meteorologist and fell in love with severe weather.  While others were hiding in a safe area, he was outside waiting for the action. He attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin.  There, he earned his Bachelor's degree of Science in Broadcast Meteorology.  He was an intern for six months in Duluth, Minnesota.  He learned the in's and out's of what it takes to become an on-air talent.

He moved to Yuma with his then girlfriend Leah.  He proposed to her in December, 2007 at a holiday event with her class.  While her class was on stage, the principal said he wanted to recognize her for something, and when she turned around, Joey was down on one knee.  Joey and Leah were married July 11th 2009 in Duluth, MN.

On November 11th, 2010 Joey and Leah had their first child. Landon Anthony was 7 lbs 11 ozs. There's a lot of lucky numbers with his family. He and his wife were both born on the 7th of their month. Joey says; "I love what I do and only want to get better in order to give the best possible weather forecast available to the viewing public."

In addition to severe weather, Joey has a soft spot for weather victims.  He has hosted multiple fundraisers raising  over 15 thousand dollars for hurricane victims of the Gulf Coast.  He also stays local helping ones in need. Working with charities is very important to him. You will always see Joey helping organizations like the Crossroads Mission, Amberly's Place and the Salvation Army. When you aren't seeing Joey on the news, he is either teaching P.E. at Harvest Prep Academy or just relaxing with his family. He enjoys golfing, baseball, football, fishing and watching his little one grow.
